Description:

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics is known as "the varsity sport for the mind." FIRST combines the excitement of sports with the rigors of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand", perform community service, hone teamwork skills, and create a robot to perform tasks against a field of competitors. Students are lead by volunteer professional mentors who lend their time and talents to guide students into STEM careers. FEE: $100. This program is exempt from the family cap. Participants who are eligible for free and reduced lunch will pay 1/2 of program fee. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon registration.

REGISTER: Students will register at the Oshkosh Recreation Department and pay fees.
An informational meeting in the fall for new and returning students will be held on August 22nd at 6:30pm at North High School in room 135.
